Q

What should be paid attention to when processing EVA film?

A

1.Before using the EVA interlayer, you should fully understand the product introduction provided by our company, and choose the appropriate product type according to the specific application field.

2.Make glass samples according to the lamination temperature, process and heating time provided by our company (the sample area is not less than 0.5㎡), and test the quality and hue of the samples, and then put them into mass production after confirming that they meet the quality requirements.

3.When using EVA interlayer film to make other laminated glass products,it is necessary to understand the physical and chemical properties of the bonded materials, and relevant verification tests must be done before batch use to ensure that the interlayer film has no adverse reactions with the bonded materials(including but not limited to delamination, bubbles, white fog,discoloration,yellowing,fading,etc.).

4.Applicable materials include but are not limited to the following types:
—— Inorganic materials (glass, marble, tile, metal, etc.) and their printed matter
——Organic materials (PMMA, PC, PET, PVC, etc.) and their printed matter
——Other intermediate materials (silk, silk cloth, cotton and linen, paper, honeycomb board, etc.) and their printed matter

5.It is necessary to confirm its compatibility with EVA intermediate film,if silicone glue, structural glue and other sealing materials need to be used in the installation process of laminated glass. Some sealing materials may have adverse reactions to the intermediate film of laminated glass, resulting in degumming, foaming or blackening around the laminated glass. Chemical detergents can also have adverse effects on the EVA intermediate film.

Q

What should I pay attention to when storing and transporting EVA film?

A

1. The temperature is lower than 25, and the humidity is lower than 50%.

2. Avoid direct sunlight, waterproof and moisture-proof, away from heat sources, do not squeeze.

3. Please keep the unused film properly. It is recommended to make a sample glass with an area of not less than 0.5 before the next use to confirm the product quality.

4. After unpacking, please pay attention to dust and moisture, and use it within 3 months.

Q

Why does white fog appear in EVA laminated glass?

A

Reason one:
Processing temperature or heat holding time is not enough.
Solution:
If more layers of glass or EVA film, or glass is thicker,The temperature and time should be increased accordingly. Please make sure the temperature and time is enough.

Reason two:
Glass or EVA is damp, or the air is high humidity. In this case the fog is very white and always arise at the edge of glass just when the glass cool down.
Solution:
1)Make sure the glass EVA film and fabric dry, especially after glass washing.
2)Increase the heat-holding time in high humidity season.

Q

Why does EVA laminated glass degumming?

A

1.The laminated glass is degumming after placed in room for a few days.
Reason:
1) Processing temperature or heat-holding time is not high enough, so that the adhesion is not good.
2) EVA film damp seriously.
3) EVA film is out of expiration.
Solution:
1) If more layers of glass or EVA film, or glass is thicker, The temperature and time Should be increased accordingly. Please make sure the temperature and time is enough.
2) Please confirm the EVA film is in good condition.

Q

Why does EVA laminated glass degumming?

A

2.Glasses can not stick together.
Reason:
Glass surface has grease, too much water, or other adhesion-resist substance.
Solution:
Clean and dry glass carefully.

Q

Why does EVA laminated glass degumming?

A

3.Glass is degumming after edge-grinding.
Reason:
1) The adhesion is not good, so that water penetrated into glass from the edges during process or grinding.
2) The EVA film melt because of high temperature when grinding. So that water penetrated into glass.
Solution:
1) Increase the temperature and time during laminating so that the adhesion reach the best.
2)Release the grinding wheel and put more water into the tank to make the glass temperature lower.

Q

Why does EVA laminated glass degumming?

A

4.Degumming after the glass is installed.
Reason:
Silicon glue or sealant which was used into install has reaction with EVA film and a lead to degumming.
Solution:
1)Please fully confirm the corrosive and permeability of the sealant and glass glue before using. Make a small sample test will be better.
2)Recommend E&N edge EVA sealing reagent before use the silicon glue.
3)For the color and indoor EVA film, neutral fast cured silicon glue is recommend, like Toshiba -381.

Q

Why do bubbles appear in EVA laminated glass?

A

1.Bubbles on the edges of laminated glass.
Reason:
Premature turn off the vacuum pump.
Solution:
Don't turn off the vacuum pump until glass temperature down to 50℃.

Q

Why do bubbles appear in EVA laminated glass?

A

2.Small bubbles irregularly in whole glass surface.
Reason:
The air in the silicone bag is not discharged completely due to the incomplete vacuum treatment.
Solution:
Check the silicon bag is leaking, blocked or underpower; please replace the silicon bag, or put some wire mesh or dry wooden sticks to connect the glass and air vent to make sure the air can be exhausted completely.

Q

Why do bubbles appear in EVA laminated glass?

A

3.Glass is broken or bubbles after edge grinding.
Reason:
During process of grinding, the glass temperature is too high but can not released in time.
Solution:
Please turn the grinding wheel loose and put more water into the tank to make the temperature of glass lower.

Q

Why do bubbles appear in EVA laminated glass?

A

4.Bubble is long.
Reason:
The plainness of the glass is poor (especially the tempered glass).
Solution:
1) Make sure the inserted film is thicker enough to fill up the deformation scale of the two overlapping glasses.
2) Change tempered glass. Or choose the matched tempered glass.

Q

Why do bubbles appear in EVA laminated glass?

A

5.Bubbles around the hole.
Reason:
The plainness around the hole is not good.
Solution:
Please seal the hole using the heat resistant tape on both sides of it.

Q

Why does the EVA laminated glass self-explode?

A

1.Glass is broken during process of laminating.
Reason one:
Glass is not of good quality, especially for pattern glass.
Solution:
Please change glass.

Reason two :
There are glass shatters or hard objects in the silicon bag.
Solution:
Please clean the silicon bag carefully.

Q

Why does the EVA laminated glass self-explode?

A

2.Glass is okay when taking it out of furnace, but after hours, glass is broken.
Reason:
Taking glass out too early. glass went cold suddenly.
Solution:
Please stop vacuum and take glass out when the temperature cool down to about 50℃. Allow the glass to cool down gradually and avoid contact with water.

Q

Why does the EVA laminated glass self-explode?

A

3.Glass is broken after taking out of furnace for a few days.
Reason:
Due to EVA film flowing out too much at the edges, the glass slightly bent. It tend to break because of self- stress if the temperature suddenly cool down.
Solution:
1)Please try placing dry wooden sticks around the glass to reduce the pressure
2)Choose the low flow EVA film, like our product: EN-WH or VE-HT.

Q

Why does EVA laminated glass overflow?

A

For most of customers, it is a headache problem. Too much film flowing out make the glass and even silicon bag become very dirty. It is very difficult to clean up. Especially for color film, too much film flowing out may lead to the glass color become uneven, edge color lighter but middle color deep.In serious case, film flowing out may lead to the glass self explosion.
Solution:
1) Choose the low flow EVA film,like our product:EN-WH or VE-HT;
2) Please try to decrease the temperature and increase the heat holding time to reduce the film coming out. Of course, first of all we need make sure temp and time is enough to get good transparency and adhesion.
3)Put dry wooden sticks around the glass to decrease glass edges pressure.
4) Recommend PET film used to help to reduce the film coming out.

Q

Why does the MG film produced by the rolling method have degumming, bubbles and boiling test failure?

A

The reason is that the moisture content of the film exceeds the standard, causing moisture or air bubbles in the interlayer, insufficient rolling or vacuum exhaust, insufficient high temperature and high pressure parameters or insufficient time. The treatment method is to first ensure the moisture content of the film. The reasons for the high moisture content of the film are mainly high humidity in the storage environment of the film, too long storage time, and poor sealing during storage. It is necessary to regularly check the moisture content of the film to ensure the storage and filming room environment. In the production process, due to insufficient rolling and vacuum degassing and premature edge sealing, the moisture and air in the laminated glass remain in the laminated glass, and the parameters of rolling and vacuum degassing should be adjusted in time. Such as temperature, pressure, line, Speed, pumping time and vacuum pressure etc., ensure good degassing and edge sealing effect.

Q

Why does the MG film produced by the rolling method shrinkage?

A

Since the MG film will spread after being heated and pressed, there is generally no precompression film caused by improper film cutting angle and force when producing PVB laminated glass. The removal of the residual film on the edge of the MG film laminated glass should be carried out within a certain period of time after the precompression, because the MG film is soft when it comes out of the pressing roller, and the removal at this time is likely to cause a certain degree of shrinkage.

Q

Why does the MG film produced by the rolling method have high fog?

A

The phenomenon is that the transparency of the finished film laminated glass is weakened, that is, high fog; the reason is that the cooling speed of the autoclave is too slow or uneven; The first method is to have a certain interval between the glass on the glass car, so that all the glass can be heated and cooled evenly; The second method is to check the speed of the cooling fan in the autoclave, the pressure and flow of the cooling water passing through the cooler, and the temperature is low enough to ensure that the radiator has sufficient cooling power. For the produced high haze glass, it can be re-entered into the autoclave to heat up and quickly cool to reduce the haze.

Q

Why are there impurities in the MG film produced by the rolling method?

A

Because the MG film generates static electricity after being rubbed, it will attract various impurities on the film. Although these impurities will not affect the service life of the glass, they will greatly affect the appearance quality. Therefore, although this kind of defect is not a process problem, it is an important control point that cannot be ignored in the production of MG laminated glass.

Q

Why does the MG film produced by the rolling method have partial rainbows?

A

The manifestation was a locally visible rainbow on the MG laminated glass. The reason is that the glass is subjected to excessive local pressure and the film at different positions has uneven thickness and residual stress, which results in light distortion during the high temperature and high pressure treatment in the autoclave. Treatment method: Put the glass and the glass partition liner correctly on the glass car to avoid the uneven pressure of the glass.
